Hello Friends, Neighbors, Farmers!
Volunteer Days this week:
Tuesday, April 9 (1pm - 5pm)
Saturday, April 14 - (9am - 2pm)
Thank you for your help last week - This past Saturday we were able to get a lot of debris cleared out and the lots are looking good! We also gathered together and came up with 2 lists of what we would like to see happen at the community space and we also set up some initial ground rules - you can see all of the great ideas, suggestions and the beginnings of the ground rules here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqtmAvYp4tJndHlIUmZtQV9MUkExM0ZOWk1uVWZtcWc
Please let us know if you are interested in helping with any of the following:
- getting electric to the lot so we can use tools to build benches or generator?
- have a car/van/truck and can help pickup materials

We will be building the back wall, picking up all and any glass and also meeting at 1pm to discuss the project together - this is an open meeting and everyone that can and wants to attend is encouraged to come. I'd like to encourage everyone in the neighborhood to attend so please ask your neighbors to come at 1pm too!

Textile Arts Center: www.textileartscenter.com
The Sewing Seeds natural dye program shares the Textile Arts Center mission of providing support to fiber artists, and everyday people interested in working with fiber, by acting as a resource facility and creative meeting place.
Through the Summer we'll be developing a garden of natural dyes with educational information about the plants, open to the community. We're looking for volunteer help to build our garden. Some of the current projects include: levelling the lot, building raised beds, building infrastructures like benches, fences, etc.
This next saturday (04/14) the main project at the TAC garden will be:
-- building a fence + stage area with pallets
-- defining and starting raised bed for meadow area
St. Lydia's: http://stlydias.org
We are a progressive congregation in New York City, located where Gowanus and Park Slope meet in Brooklyn. Our worship is rooted in the patterns of the Early Church, and we are tied to the Lutheran and Episcopal traditions. All are welcome at the table.
St. Lydia's is an experiment in what the Church might be when the meal we share is at the center of our common life. We're building this together—come and join us!
